Mario Battle

On Thursday, March 22, 2001, Susan and Jim went to the U.S. Embassy in Guatemala City, Guatemala, and signed the final paperwork to adopt Mario.  Susan had taken three trips of a week each on the preceeding two months so that Mario would feel a little more comfortable when we came back home to the U.S.  We think it went exceedingly well, and we couldn't be happier.

Interestingly, Mario and Clara stayed with the same foster family, and even knew each other back when they were four to six months old.  Although they won't remember it, we have the pictures (not here) to prove it!
